Kernel Metrics on Normal Cycles and Application to Curve Matching
In this work we introduce a new dissimilarity measure for shape registration using the notion of normal cycles, a concept from geometric measure theory which allows to generalize curvature for non smooth subsets of the euclidean space. Our construction is based on the definition of kernel metrics on the space of normal cycles which take explicit expressions in a discrete setting. This approach ...
متن کاملCorner Guided Curve Matching and its Application to Scene Reconstruction
Corners and curves are important image features in many vision-based applications. Corners are usually more stable and easier to match than curves, while curves contain richer information of scene structure. In previously work, corners are often used to recover the epipolar geometry between two views, which is then used in curve matching to reduce the search space. However, information of the sc...
متن کاملconstruction and validation of translation metacognitive strategy questionnaire and its application to translation quality
like any other learning activity, translation is a problem solving activity which involves executing parallel cognitive processes. the ability to think about these higher processes, plan, organize, monitor and evaluate the most influential executive cognitive processes is what flavell (1975) called “metacognition” which encompasses raising awareness of mental processes as well as using effectiv...
On the Curve/Point Set Matching Problem
Let P be a polygonal curve in R of length n, and S be a point set of size k. We consider the problem of finding a polygonal curve Q on S such that all points in S are visited and the Fréchet distance between Q and P is at most a given ε. We show that this problem is NP-complete, regardless of whether or not the points of S are allowed to be visited more than once.

These lines are the intersections of the plane through the point p in the world and the centres of the left and right cameras with the two camera focal planes (see Figure 1). These epipolar lines are formed by the intersections of the pencil of planes through the line joining the image centres with the camera focal planes. Hence such lines form a pencil passing through the point of intersection...
